Field Engineer - Electrical

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Provide guidance, training and development of the field Electrical and Instrumentation personnel
  • Coordinate the preparation and implementation of the execution plan as it pertains to each work location
  • Complete project redlines during the course of the project and help compile the turnover books at the end of the project
  • Prepare and submit requests for information to the client engineering group
  • Review PLC and Motor Control drawings to ensure the system will operate as designed
  • Oversee and ensure spec-related instructions are followed by the electrical and instrumentation crews
  • Remain knowledgeable of requirements for applicable codes and standards on project
  • Perform material take offs and provide detailed material purchase request’s to the procurement group
  • Review site drawings for accuracy and correct as required

Required Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Valid Driver license with clean driving record
  • 5 years’ experiences as an Electrical Field Engineer, preferably in the oil & gas industry

 

  • Valid North Dakota Masters or Journeyman card if an Engineering degree has not been obtained

 

  • Experienced with current AutoCAD version(s) or experience in redlining and producing hand drawn field sketches to industry standards

Education:

 

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent

 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree, in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering along with a North Dakota Journeyman-Masters License is preferred

 

(Related field experience may qualify to substitute formal degree requirement.)

 

Required Training & Certificates:

 

  • OSHA 10 certification, or ability to obtain upon hire
  • H2S certification, or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department
  • Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications
