Summary of Position Duties

This position provides support to Distribution Operations, CSC and Business Offices in PD- Mobile area. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing and executing switching, directing emergency power restoration efforts, coordinating switching and operations with the ACC and Substation groups as necessary. Monitoring and operating the distribution automation system (SCADA) and taking action as needed. Various system applications are used such as IDMS, OMS, CSS, ARMS, DARTS and ARCOS.

Job Experience

    • Must pass SDOP (Southern Company Distribution Operating Procedure) test and be added to the Distribution Official Switching and Clearance List within the first 6 months
    • Bachelors in Engineering or the following job experience preferred (5 years of experience desired)
    • Power Delivery Distribution / Transmission / Substation
    • Generation
    • Experience as an Operator in a control room environment or closely related experience

Other Requirements

    • Ability to work a combination of 8 and 10 hour rotating shifts
    • Will be required to work nights, weekends, holidays and be available for callout and hold over extra time
    • CritiCall testing required
