Risk Management Specialist

POSITION PAYS $15-$20 PER HOUR
This position is meant to enhance a skilled employee’s understanding of Risk Management principles as well as enhance an employee’s skill set within the ERP/Accounting system. Position is responsible for performing administrative, clerical, accounting, and investigative work on behalf of the Risk Management team. Duties include but are not limited to: collecting basic information from incoming claimant calls; setting up and maintaining claim information with the Jonas application; entering purchase orders; document retrieval and maintenance using external websites and internal servers; general data entry and scrubbing for special projects as required; on-site response and investigation of vehicle, injury, and general liability claims; correspondence with Operations team members to request, follow up, or seek clarification on information needed to track incidents. Position is also required to participate on the Safety Metric Team. Required to participate in after hours on-call scheduling with Safety Auditors.
2 years minimum electric distribution service or construction experience required, or Skilled A Laborer certification. Must be able to fluently read, write, speak and comprehend English. Must have a high level of attention to detail, be computer literate, and able to pass Microsoft Office (Excel & Outlook), General Computer, and Clerical skills test with at least an 80% in General Knowledge. Will be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required by on-call schedules and need for investigations. Based on the nature of the work at Standard Utility, even if not driving company vehicles, all employees are required to have a valid Texas Driver License in good standing throughout their employment with us.
Knowledge of meter service construction specifications for all voltage up to 600 volts preferred. Knowledge and understanding of single phase and three phase low voltage and metering specification preferred, including underground applications. Experience using the Jonas application preferred.
Position is a combination of working in an office environment and performing field investigations. Must be able to move about in an office, including though not limited to getting about, manipulating documents, and using a computer. Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces. Must be able to move freely, including ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted. Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
