SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Software Systems Supervisor, the Programmer Analyst provides software support for various key business functions. The incumbent is accountable for the development, implementation, testing, reliability, and integration of computer software used to manage the Cooperative's business activities. The incumbent provides ongoing support of real time software systems from third parties or software developed internally. The Systems Analyst provides technical support for real time SCADA systems used in monitoring and controlling generation, gas pipeline, electric transmission, and electric distribution assets. The incumbent works directly with internal customers to obtain desired solutions. Also, the incumbent maintains compliance with all applicable NERC CIP Cyber Security Standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develops, installs, and tests software applications using current software development tools. Assists with the administration of relational and proprietary databases for new and existing substations, switch stations, generation assets, wind farms, gas pipelines, and distributed generation systems to support mission critical real time systems. Helps maintain software to interface with and exploit the functions of remote intelligent devices. Supports continuous data exchanges with our marketing agency and other industry entities to properly function in regional markets. Assists with the maintenance of automatic generator control software to accomplish control area load following. Keeps market related software current with changing market protocols and processes. Applies multiple standard communications protocols to monitor and control remote assets. Maintains web servers with current web development tools. Tracks, evaluates, installs, tests, and documents all software changes. Responsible for securing all critical cyber assets to prevent malicious intrusions. Participates in cyber incident response exercises and disaster recovery tests. Participates in upgrade projects of critical software and hardware systems. Maintains archived business data and documentation as required for business and compliance needs. Supports meter reading software and wholesale billing software. Supports software algorithms associated with load and wind generation forecasting. Shares 24 hour software technical support responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in a computer or information systems related field. Directly related experience may be substituted for education at the rate of two years of experience for one year of education. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical documents and procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, calculus and differential equations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills: Ability to use applicable computer programming languages related to enterprise business systems or real-time data acquisition systems. Proficient at operating personal computers using Microsoft Office Suite. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current driver's license required. WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: This job may require a work schedule in excess of a 40 hour week and travel on short notice.
