Reports to a Team Lead in Programming. Provides reporting support to Accounting & Business Solutions (ABS) Members/Customers and works independently on report assignments.
Job Summary
The position is responsible for coding standard and custom reports that can be run stand alone or in processes. The employee will also provide service, facilitate and follow up with customers for receiving approvals for custom report requests. This person will also assist with special projects via the telephone and e-mail supporting NISC Members/Customers in their use of NISC’s ABS Report Writing Solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop standard and custom reports.
- Develop SQL to capture the data that is being requested and to validate the reporting results.
- Provides superior customer support to internal and external customers in all encounters.
- Assists customers in all aspects of ABS Report Writing support including troubleshooting, training, and on-going support.
- Prepares Change Requests (CRs), estimates time to complete requested reports and follows-up to with completed requests or resolutions.
- Utilizes all Reporting support tools and helps Members/Customers understand how to use these tools for their own reports.
- Facilitate and follow up with Member/Customers on difficult requests and procedures.
- Utilizes all support tools as directed.
- Conveys customer feedback to product development staff as appropriate.
- Perform on-site training or deliver remote application training to Member/Customers via Web Tools.
- Provides after hours support.
- May develop and deliver training to coworkers as assigned.
- May prepare materials and deliver National IT Learning Center classes.
- May prepare materials and deliver Member information Conference (MIC) sessions.
- May be called upon to participate on design teams for specific projects as the need for new reports are required.
- May be required to travel to customer sites.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of Crystal Reports.
- Basic knowledge of Accounting Theory and Practices.
- Basic knowledge of SQL query language.
- Basic knowledge of other integrated SQL tools.
- Basic knowledge of UNIX commands and structure
- Basic knowledge of Project Management processes and theory.
- Basic knowledge of Service Level Management (SLM) best practices.
- Basic knowledge of the Utility or Telecom industry.
- Familiarity with NISC’s Accounting and Business Solutions application.
- Familiarity with i-net as an interface between iVUE on the server and the client PC.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent presentation and training skills.
- Excellent telephone etiquette and an ability to deal effectively with Member/Customers.
- Excellent research and problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong PC skills.
- Ability to effectively lead, influence and teach others.

Education and Experience:
Generally requires 3-5 years of report writing or SQL experience or similar related experience.
Bachelors Degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience.
