Job Description :
Boston-Power, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support our growing company in a key contributor role. Based in our Corporate Headquarters in Westborough, MA this is a hands-on role that will challenge you both technically and creatively. You will work across several business disciplines alongside some of the brightest people in the industry and will transition seamlessly between individual and team-based assignments. You will further have responsibilities that encompass circuit design, experiment set up, troubleshooting, process documentation, performance testing, procedure compliance and report writing. This is an excellent opportunity to get in on the ground floor with an exciting, dynamic, pre-IPO company making ground breaking strides in advanced battery technology.
Responsibilities:
· Design battery systems and perform sophisticated performance analysis;
· Support the research and product development of lithium-ion batteries and packs;
· Support technology transfer to manufacturing;
· Create and deliver presentations on various engineering related topics;
· Provide timely project status reports to Engineering and Production teams;
· Participate in product problem-solving teams.
Qualifications:
· B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent skills from the rechargeable battery industry;
· 7-10 years hands-on Electrical Engineering experience, part or all from the rechargeable battery industry;
· Strong experience and skills in analog circuit design, digital and mixed signal circuit design, with a systems level understanding of power management and architecture;
· Experience designing and testing single and multi-cell lithium-ion battery packs for portable applications;
· Experience with industry standard schematic capture tools;
· Experience with firmware development and debugging;
· Experience with DC-DC converter design and battery charger design;
· Experience debugging and developing solutions for EMI and ESD problems;
· Experience with agency approvals (UL, CE, etc.);
· Familiarity with programmable logic and microcontroller-based control systems design a plus;
· PCB Layout experience a plus;
· Ability to work well in fast-paced team-oriented culture;
· Ability and willingness to take initiative and offer independent thought;
· Excellent communication and presentation skills required;
· Ability to effectively manage multiple, competing priorities;
· Ability and willingness to travel approximately 5-10%;
