Job Description :

Boston-Power, Inc. is currently seeking a seasoned, results-orientated sales executive to lead our sales efforts in delivering next generation battery technology to the Government and Military power markets. Reporting into the executive suite and based at our corporate office in Westborough, MA, this is the lead sales role within the Government applications sector of our dynamic, pre-IPO company.  The successful candidate will drive organization-wide sales processes and drive revenue from our Government and Military customers.  This is an excellent opportunity to utilize and leverage your deep sales experience, Government agency contacts, visionary leadership abilities, and focused energy to drive battery sales efforts within our rapidly growing company.


Responsibilities:  

Provide leadership, direction, and coordination of the company’s Government and Military sales efforts, with a focus on high volume sales to DOD and other government agencies;

Ensure local sales teams are strongly connected with  engineering, marketing and production and that robust plans deliver sales and medium-term growth objectives;

Implement robust sales forecast modeling and measurement tools and proactively support Sales staff in meeting individual and company sales targets;

Ensure all discussions with potential clients and industry-related appearances conform to stated business objectives, guidelines and ethics;

Develop and implement systematic approaches to acquiring, analyzing and acting upon customer and market intelligence to demonstrate Boston-Power’s competitive advantage and differentiation in the market via benchmark data, analyst reports, etc.;

Align the company’s Sales and Marketing teams, including developing product roadmaps, sales strategies, priorities, objectives, metrics and targets;

Coordinate the necessary internal and external resources (sales, product management, engineering, finance, operations, executive management, etc.) to track and close business with potential clients.

Qualifications:

Extensive contacts throughout DOD and other government agencies, preferably in areas that utilize batteries and/or power/energy related technologies;

Demonstrated track record of extensive design wins in the government and military sectors;

Demonstrated ability to close sales rapidly;

Bachelors Degree in Business or related field minimum, MBA preferred;

Minimum of ten (10) years experience in sales executive leadership roles;

Minimum of seven (7) years in government agency and  military sales;

Must have ability and significant experience with selling a highly technical products within a complex sales cycle requiring  diverse contract negotiations and interests;

Experience delivering on individual sales targets while providing strategic and tactical input to the overall sales organization;

Strong organization skills, process orientation and attention to detail;

Ability to travel significantly and on short notice;

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to deliver compelling presentations of high-technology products to a variety of audiences.
