WSP is currently initiating a search for an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer for our Boston office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under close supervision, the successful candidate will perform electrical engineering and design for transit, industrial, commercial and institutional projects and, applying standard techniques and procedures, may include the following typical duties:
Assist in the preparation of design criteria documents, calculations, drawings and specifications for electrical systems including power distribution, standby power, lighting, communications, fire alarm, security and various other special systems.
Assist in the development of cost estimates for electrical systems, including performing quantity take-offs.
Provide support during construction activities, including performing site visits to confirm field conditions.
Project assignments may include, although not limited to, vehicular or rail tunnels, transportation centers, transit maintenance facilities, parking structures, bridge infrastructure or pump stations.
This is an excellent technical position for a proficient engineer to influence production of engineering design for a national client base in an internationally recognized global firm in a field designated for expansion.

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required
Familiarity with AutoCAD or Microstation and proficiency in Microsoft Office products required. Experience with Revit is a plus.
Familiarity with NFPA Standards, National Electrical Code and applicable building codes is a plus.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of internship experience in design of electrical systems.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification is a plus.
Legally qualified to work in the United States.
Preferred experience to include: electrical design, specifications, cost estimating, construction activity support. Areas of preferred experience should include one or more of the following categories of facilities: Vehicular and rail tunnels, telecommunications, transit, aviation, industrial, commercial, educational, healthcare, or governmental.
