Energy & Power Electrical Engineer
At Jacobs our Electrical Buildings Engineer have exceptional design and analysis skills, to plan and design electrical systems for buildings and facilities, including airports, Data Centers, hospitals, laboratories, high rise offices, educational facilities and other commercial and institutional projects.
Design full electrical systems, including power, lighting, grounding, and control systems
Design and perform calculations for low and medium voltage distribution systems
Ability to perform power system studies including short circuit, load flow, and protective coordination using SKM or ETAP software
Prepare drawings, specifications, and construction administration
Prepare and document Energy compliance calculations and forms
Size and select electrical equipment for use in commercial projects
Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects
Monitor quality of work by EITs, and interface with clients
May supervise electrical engineering and support personnel: evaluate performance; assign and schedule work; establish project priorities and standards; provides technical support of project work
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required
Registration as a Professional Engineer required
6+ plus years working for a MEP firm required with an emphasis on energy and power programs
Previous experience in the following types of projects: Utility Distribution Systems, Central Utility Plants, Power Plants, Data Centers, and Commercial Buildings
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD required
