Junior Electrical Engineer


Wood is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to perform routine assignments under close supervision of a more experienced engineer and apply engineering knowledge and experience to prepare design calculations and/or performs other engineering tasks using prescribed methods and procedures. Judgment is reviewed when adapting approved methods with minor modifications. Supervisor or lead discipline engineer screens assignments for new or unusual problems, recommends techniques and methods and thoroughly reviews work.


Key Responsibilities


  • Performing specific limited portions of a broader assignment under the guidance of a more experienced engineer
  • Recognizing problems and discrepancies and requests help when needed
  • Occasionally suggesting product design and work process improvements
  • Preparing design calculations following prescribed methods, procedures, and software
  • Developing and reviewing drawings
  • Preparing technical specifications for equipment
  • Coordinating and interfacing with other departments and equipment suppliers
  • Preparing technical evaluations of supplier’s proposals
  • Preparing equipment lists (mechanical equipment lists, line lists, instrument lists, etc.)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience Requirements:


  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices accompanied by a developing knowledge of the organization’s technology in general and electrical in particular
  • 2- 4 years of engineering experience is required
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate required


Physical Requirements


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and walk and may require close vision work
  • Travel may be required


  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA for any employer other than current employer.
