Line Construction Maintenance Operations Supervisor
Responsible for all activities related to the construction, maintenance, operation and restoration of the underground and overhead distribution and transmission systems. Responsible for leading, coaching, developing and motivating employees. Ensures field personnel convey a positive company image to the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures deployment of company and contract labor resources to achieve timely construction, continuity, and reliability of electric service by organizing and directing the construction and maintenance work activities within area of responsibility.
Plans, organizes and schedules new business construction. Responsible for contractor management and identification and use of labor resources for new business construction.
Maintains electric distribution and/or transmission system reliability and quality of service to existing customers within budget constraints through implementation and management of facilities maintenance programs.
Maintains public and employee safety by directing safety programs in accordance with company safety rules, practices and procedures, local, state and federal regulations.
Ensures field crews are properly trained to carry out all aspects of their job and that employees adhere to established policies, procedures and practices in carrying out their assigned duties.
Ensures proper handling of hazardous materials and Department of Transportation requirements.
Ensures that proper records and reports are created and maintained to provide reference material for budgeting, claims and other company departments.
Participates in “Duty Supervisor” rotation to ensure most economical and timely response to restore or repair Distribution or Transmission systems outside the normal work hours.
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
Monitors and enforces all compliance requirements for area of responsibility.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a related area from an accredited school and 5 or more years of related experience. Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 9 years of related work experience.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of power line construction, operating, and maintenance practices. Demonstrated knowledge in all federal state, and local safety/compliance regulations affecting distribution operations. Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, conflict resolution, and labor management skills. Demonstrated working knowledge of the company’s collective bargaining agreement. Demonstrated working knowledge of customer service business practices, policies, and procedures. Demonstrated creative skills in managing a 24X7 operations organization.

PCs, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment with some field work for supervision and emergency response.
Preferred qualifications include: IBEW Journeyman Lineman certification
Annual Salary: $84,000 (Min) to $110,000 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan opportunity at the discretion of the company.
