UG Service Working Foreman
Responsible for directing crew to complete tasks as required performing underground service installation and repair projects to meet scheduled timelines. Properly completes all associated paperwork related to service and company requirements. Responsibilities will also include working on underground services/secondary lines and associated equipment up to 600 volts unsupervised. Position is 5 day work week, 40-50 hours and on call as needed.
2-3 year minimum underground electric distribution service work experience required. Must be computer literate for electronic reporting processes. Must be qualified to work on energized and de-energized lines and equipment up to 600 volts. Requires basic skills in math, strong reading comprehension skills, and strong verbal communication skills. Must follow all safe work practices. If not certified, will be required to attend certification courses. May be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays. Class A CDL Required. Based on the nature of the work at Standard Utility, even if not driving company vehicles, all employees are required to have a valid Texas Driver License in good standing throughout their employment with us.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Additional formal or occupational education focused on electrical services and construction is helpful. State wide travel preferable.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces. Must be able to move freely, including ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at knees and waist. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted. Must have ability to read meters, diagnostic equipment, and construction type drawings. Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. May be required to work long and unpredictable hours. Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather.
